  • Purpose of review
    • To decide whether Wolsong Unit 1 can be continuously operated safely for 10 additional years after its design life time expired.

  • Direction of review
    • To determine whether the reactor facilities can remain safe during continued operation
    • To determine whether the life time assessment and aged deterioration management meet relevant requirements
    • To check the radiological impact on the environment with regards to the changed natural environment/characteristics of the site
    • To check the improvement of the safety equipment and design to which the updated technical standards (incorporating the latest operating experience/research results) were applied
    • To check the implementation of post-Fukushima regulatory action
