KINS is a dedicated technical expert organization for nuclear safety regulation
established to protect the public from radiation disasters arising from production
and utilization of nuclear energy and to contribute to public safety and environment
Since established in 1990, KINS has played, it has played a pivotal role in protecting Korea’s nuclear safety, and has continued to develop and grow based on its expertise in technology and research.
“The lives and safety of the public are non-negotiable” is an unchanging principle and a top priority at KINS. KINS has always been committed to becoming a “safety-first KINS” driven by the principle of “being with the people.” It has continued to improved safety management systems according to changes in facilities, technology, knowledge, people, and systems used in nuclear-related industries.
Even at this very moment, KINS is monitoring and supervising nuclear facilities with a keen eye, supported by the willingness to serve, integrity, a strong sense of duty, a sense of mission, and leadership from our employees.
Moving forward, KINS promises to mature further as a safety and regulatory expert organization by preventing nuclear and radiation accidents, with transparent disclosure and communication of regulatory processes, and the development of technical standards geared towards the future.
